The Sunshine Blogger Award 2020 ☀️

Last month I’ve been nominated to the Sunshine Blogger Award I’m honored to be doing it for the first time. I’m so thankful for this community and I can’t believe that I’ve been nominated for this after only a few months of blogging. Thank you so much to Rukky @eternity Books for tagging me! I’m extremely honored, especially since Rukky is an awesome blogger, who writes passionately and likes to include everyone in her interesting Discussions ! (Definitely go follow her) ☀️

1 – Thank the blogger who nominated you and link back to their page so others can see how amazing they are, too!

2- List the rules in the post and the badge somewhere on your website

3 -Answer the 11 questions you got asked

4 -Nominate 11 new bloggers for this award and let them know

5 -Ask the nominees 11 new questions

Questions I’m answering:

1 – What book series do you want to see as a TV adaptation?

As both a Fantasy YA & Romance Reader, I always love it when there’s a mix of both these genres. But, it’s always hard to adapt a fantasy book into a Tv series. Most of the time it looks weird and cheap. Still, I would love to see “An Ember in the Ashes ” as a Fantasy YA Tv series or one of Colleen Hoovers books as a heartbreaking romance series.

2 -What supernatural creature do you think we need to see more of in fiction?

I honestly love this question. I’ve thought about it and there are so many Vampire and Werewolf books and stories, but what about Mermaids ? Or Unicorns ? Why can’t there be unicorns in our YA worlds ? Also: I love Jinns in books, but they are almost never the protagonist, so why not create a story from the point of view of a Jinn ?

Just putting it out there 😉

3- What author would you love to see more books from?

There are so many, I can’t really choose one. So I’m going for three authors. Jennifer Gruenke, author of ‘Of Silver & Shadow’ . Christina Lauren, author of f.e. ‘The Unhoneymooners’ and Sabaa Tahir, author of ‘An Ember in the Ashes’.

4 – How do you choose which book to read?

Again, love this question. I will dedicate a whole Blog post to this question, but I’ll give you a short insight into my brain when choosing a book. First of all, I mostly only read books, I know I’ll like. There are a few genres I adore, and then there are genres I strictly avoid. If I would to pick up a Horror novel, chances are I won’t like it. Even if other readers and people tell me it’s an amazing book.

Another thing I do is, I go by authors. If there’s a book I really loved, I’ll check out the author and see what other books she/he published. Then I’ll tackle one book after another by this author if the premise sounds interesting.

5 – Which genre do you want to read more of?

Mystery and crime ! I read a lot of romance and YA novels, but I want to get back to my roots a little bit. When I started reading books as a teenager, I loved crimes and mystery. I don’t know why, but now I only read romance & Ya . I want to change that .

6 -Which genre do you want to read less of ?

Romance & Ya, so I have time for Mystery and crime hahaha. No, I love Ya Novels too much to read less of them. But I could read less romance for sure. Most of the time they have the same plot anyways. And lately I haven’t been enjoying them very much.

7 – Do you like doing tags?

I love doing Tags. They are extremely fun to do and they let you form this bond with bloggers and readers. And I can always discover new bloggers and get inspired.

8 – How many books do you read at a time?

Depends on my time and on my mood. Normally, I only read around 2 books at a time. More than that leads to me getting confused and then I often drop a book for the one I’m more into, which is a little unfair. So, 2 at a time works for me !

9 – What are some good bookish habits that you’re proud of?

One thing I’m proud of is that I always immediately put the book I want to read on my Goodreads tbr. That way, I won’t forget them. I also really take care of my beautiful shelf, so I add new books but I also remove a few from time to time, so that it doesn’t get too long.

Another thing I’m good at, is reading the sequel to a book I liked. That could be a few months, even years later,-but I’ll read them ! And I’m proud of that xD

10 – What are some bad bookish habits that you’re trying (or not) to break?

I want to DNF books more often and earlier. I rarely DNF a book, even if I don’t really like it,- I’ll still skim through it. Which is so stupid, because if I don’t like it, why should I keep on reading ? It’s something I really have to learn and finally break this bad habit.

11 – Who’s your favorite book influencer?

This is such a hard question, because I never really thought about it. I am active on Bookstagram and I love the community there. I don’t really have a favorite book influencer. But there are a few book influencers, who inspire me and who taught me valuable lessons. Cassidy from @Cassidyreads, is one of them ! She’s a huge romance lover, and even though she has a big number of followers, she is extremely down to earth and engages with everyone. Absolutely inspirational, when it comes to being a kind person and valuing other people’s opinions.

@amyleabooks is also one influencer, who inspires me. Again, down to earth and humble, she reviews and talks about contemporary romance books with complete honesty. Her outfits are also amazing !

You don’t have to be big on Instagram, to be an amazing Influencer and Khanh &Jerry from @letrinhdairy show you that ! Their feed is absolutely stunning, with a lot of personality and flare. Their reviews have a lot of substance and help me decide, whether I should read the book or not.

  2. I am 100% with you on Mermaids. I would LOVE to see way more of them in fiction. Or at least have more options to choose from like there is with vampires and werewolves as you said! Thank you so much for tagging me Syl, I can’t wait to answer your questions 😀

  3. Oops, I’m so late. Thank you for tagging me, Syl. It means a lot to me. 💖💖

I loved reading your answers and I’m glad to say that I agree with a lot of them lol — I would totally love to see mermaids and unicorns in books and so far I’ve only seen a few mermaid books? That’s really bad lol.

I read your questions too and they’re really exciting and I have quite a few answers already in my mind lol. I’ll try to do this one as soon as possible but it’ll probably take some time. Ugh, I’m super lazy lol.
